How Do You Qualify for a VA Loan?

The guidelines to qualify for a VA loan are straightforward. The VA has some basic requirements parameters in place that must be met in order for you to qualify for a VA loan. If you do not meet these requirements, do not let it discourage you from applying for a conventional or FHA loan. Any active duty military personnel or veterans who have served either:

  1. * 90 days of active duty service during wartime
  2. * 180 days of active duty service during peacetime
  3. * 6 years of service in the National Guard or Reserves

Spouses of those who have died in either the line of duty or as a result of their service are also eligible for VA loans.

What Are Some of the Advantages of VA Home Loans?

    Again, not all veterans will be eligible for 100% financing, but those that do can buy a home without a down payment.
